No more 'Lil Princess'. And it's Valentine's Day!

If you have been following my blog for more than 2 years, you should know that I used to have a nick 'Lil Princess', and even to the extent of including it in my blog URL for my previous blog. And of which, I was ever featured and interviewed in The Sunday Times newspapers, TODAY newspapers, magazines, etc, based on my previous blog.

And this article was found in the
Malaysian newspaper publication: The Star. (15/Aug '06).

Well, there's more, but just that I don't have the soft copies.
The above 2 pictures were sent to me by Winnie back then.

So anyway, despite the extensive use of the term 'Princess' years ago... I outgrew this nick and stopped calling myself 'Princess' in any sort of situations to whoever or whatever, in the recent one or two years.

I mean, it will be nice to be my boyfriend's Princess... Why not? It certainly feels so sweet and loving, and feel so precious like to be his Precious Lil One whom he will love, dote and protect. But to be called a Princess at the age of 40 in future? Hello.... I should be called a 'Matriarch' or 'Queen' by then (if so I wish to be called something)! Thus, that was why the 'Princess' nick thingy kinda took a backseat. I'd rather be called 'My Lady', or 'My Highness'~~~ :p

When I was out for dinner and drinks last week, I came across a porcelain mug which I was instantly attracted to - Not for the color or design, but for the wordings, as seen in the picture below.

The words 'Formerly Princess' were what that caught my attention.
It was really something that I could really relate to.
And thus I really felt strongly that this mug was totally apt for me!

So I had to have it!

And also bought a diamond-encrusted cup cover that sticks to the mug tightly.

I think that the mug and cover fits perfectly for each other.
The combination of both made it looked so pretty, dainty and girlish.
I wouldn't insist on being hailed as a 'Goddess' by my Special Someone...
But being regarded as his Goddess, wouldn't be a bad idea! :p

So there you go... My new drinking mug for myself when I am in the office. :)

It's going to be Valentine's Day in less than an hour!

Visit to Sentosa Flowers 2012

Few days ago, I went to Sentosa for the Sentosa Flowers 2012. It is an annual flower festival in Singapore, held during the Chinese New Year festive period. We parked at Resorts World Sentosa, and went for lunch first, but not before buying my fave caramel popcorn from Garrett Popcorn! :D

After lunch, I proceeded to the Sentosa Flowers 2012, which starts from the area near to the Merlion statue. I was appalled by the long queues - Just to take photos of/with the floral display! One has to actually queue to take photos of the floral displays. I have to say it was a brilliant idea since one has to wait for their turn instead of just swooping in. But to reduce the queue lines, why not charge per 'entry' into the floral display area? It can be like a S$1/pax.display and the money can go towards maintaining the florals (since this is a free-entry event) or to charity. There were like 10 or more such displays... Imagine having to queue for each and every of them!? So, nope... I didn't join in those queues. Instead, I took the photos from afar... Such as the floral zodiac dragon as seen below.

Didn't even need to queue. How awesome was that?! :)

Review: Samsung Galaxy Note (Pictures + Videos)

It's a phone!
It's a tablet!
It's Samsung Galaxy Note!

The Samsung Galaxy Note is a device that combines the capabilities and functionalities of a tablet and smartphone into one. And thanks to Samsung Singapore, I had the opportunity to review this awesome creation which is fast gaining popularity! I have read reports which mentioned that Samsung had already shipped out more than 1 million sets in less than 2 months!

It is certainly a wonderful on-the-go mobile device!

And if Size Matters To You...
The Samsung Galaxy Note (or 'Note' for short) boasts the largest HD Super AMOLED display with excellent clarity (1280 x 800). This simply means clear, vibrant and sharp images shown on the screen, and this is one of the few features of the Note that I like. The 5.3" screen makes it the smallest tablet around, but yet large enough that it minimises the need to scroll down pages or moving the page from left to right.

If you are wondering if the Note will fit into your front jeans pocket, yes it is able to... But only if it is a pair of jeans for Men. You need not try fitting it into the pockets of a pair of skinny jeans or those ladies' tight jeans. That won't do.

It is that stylishly slim...

And if Looks Matter to You...

The Notes gives a mimimalistic feel - With only the Samsung logo and the rectangular homescreen button. There is a tiny camera lens hole at the front for the 2.0mp front-facing camera. The back is as simple too, with the 8.0mp back camera (with LED flash) at the centre, and the speaker at the bottom left. I have to add that the speaker is really loud and clear... I can be in the living room and I am still able to hear the music playing from my Note in my bedroom.

And if Performance Matters to You...

The Note is powered by the Android OS, a dual-core 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos processor and uses a removable 2500 mAh battery.

It comes with a stylus and Samsung calls it the S Pen, which fits snugly into the stylus dock. Thus, you need not worry that it may drop out if you are holding onto your Note when you are out. The S Pen comes in handy for those users who dislike having fingerprints all over the screen.

Instead of typing out your document or note using the onscreen QWERTY keyboard, you can actually use the S Pen and write on the screen as the Note is equipped with the handwriting recognition software. But do not put too much hope that it can recognise each and every word that you write (Well, at least for me!).

Creating Memos will never be a boring and dull thing to do with the S MEMO! In one memo, you can include web links, image, drawings and voice memos! The text recognition converts your handwriting to text. I like that I can actually position all my 'add-ons' freely around the memo note. I can even crop a picture and save the cropped part as a memo. I feel the S Memo is useful for people who are coming up with creative ideas while on the go. This feature will allow the easy and swift input of their ideas for future brainstorming and whats-not.

The ability to tap and hold in order to capture an instant screenshot is one of my top favorites, as the screenshot can be opened up in the image editor immediately for me to doodle on it, or to circle out a particular building in the map which I had just did a screenshot of. Also, this is absolutely useful if I have an urgent document to send out which requires my signature. Once I am done with all the editing, I can save it on my Note, or the most awesome thing...... Send it to social media sites or to email them out! Check out the YouTube video for a demo on this! :D

What an integration of the several features that I regularly use,
even before I was using the Note!

Picture and video quality is of good quality. Watching videos with the Note is certainly more enjoyable than on my iPhone 4, due to the large screen, screen clarity and great sound system. the video maker is quite an impressive feature, so much so that I can use the S Pen and write or draw on any part of the video screen and then save the video (See below Youtube video for a demo!).

What's Next...
There will be apps that will optimize the use of the S Pen to a great extent in such brilliant ways! The Soonr Scribble allows one to annotate any file and store it in the cloud, like Dropbox. The ZigZag Board allows a few people to look at the same screen from different devices and annotate on the file that they are discussing. Certainly useful for group discussions!

In Conclusion...
I really like that the Samsung Galaxy Note is a hybrid of a smartphone and a tablet, and of course with other uses of it being a camera, ebook reader and game set. This will allow me to carry just one device instead of the multiple devices that I will need for each requirement of mine. The vibrant screen and clear sound system is enough to attract me... And I simply can't resist the S Memo feature. The only drawback of the Note is the size. Despite it being the smallest tablet around, it is really weird when I use it as a phone. It cannot fit into my jeans/shorts pockets, thus it is really a hassle to carry it around.

Together with the phone and battery, it comes with the charger, and a pair of earphone (with ear buds included) that is in a very mismatched white color. Why White??!! I have no idea too. It does not come with a microSD card, so you have to purchase it yourself should you want the extra storage space and option.

Adios 2011... You have been great! Hello 2012!

So we bade farewell to 2011 and welcomed 2012...

When you looked back at 2011, was it full of happiness and fond memories? Or were there any kind of regrets or unfulfilled resolutions of yours? For myself, it had been a great year... Full of ups and downs and new challenges faced. And to keep it short....

I started off the year with a short trip to KL and Genting.
Was invited by the Sentosa Marcom team to visit the Sentosa Boardwalk before its official opening. This place is a must-visit place whether you are a visitor to Singapore or a local. It is espeically romantic at night, imo.
I got to do a Chinese New Year "Lo Hei" onboard the Singapor Flyer, 165m above ground level! And it was my first time on the Flyer. Lovely experience! :)
My addiction for exercising started in February. I had to exercise at least thrice a week else I felt weird. However, my current job and social life kinda changed my exercise regime (sadly!), which I plan to get it back in this new year!
Invited by omy.sg for a movie experience at the Premier theatre at Shaw (Nex). It is certainly an alternative to Golden Village's Gold Class seats. And what's more it is located very convenienently to my home. :)
February was probably the most exciting month for me as I became one of the ambassadors for Watsons. With the monthly sponsorship and products, as well as the beauty workshops specially organized for us, I was able to share with my blog readers, as well as Watsons Facebook fans, on those exciting and wonderful products which are retailing in most (if not all) Watsons stores! And not forgetting, posting up pictures on Twitpic on those products I hauled/received from Watsons, and those Watsons member-only events which I went to!
In March, TheBlogShop became my apparel sponsor! I got to select the clothes which I like and would love to wear. I got to play dress up... Take photos of myself wearing these pretty clothes and sharing them via my blog posts, Twitter and Instagram.
Somewhere in Q2, I did a career switch and entered into a new industry (whereby I needed to adjust and adapt to my job's steep learning curve quickly) which got me busy ever since. I am thankful that I found a job which I like, and which I look forward to work every morning. I deal with customers from the Asia-Pac region, which also gave me plenty of travel opportunities to those countries, which led to new knowledge and experiences gained. And most importantly, I am blessed with a good team of manager and colleagues locally.
As much as I love French food (Think: Escargots and Foie Gras!), I appreciate the French music and culture too. It was an unforgettable experience where I was taken on a magical journey into Edith Piaf's life through her songs performed by various artistes. I would love to visit France again, to immerse myself in the country's rich culture and sit outside a cafe by the roadside and sip coffee, while watching the world go by.
Invited to become a member of the 'by-invite only' Dell Access Program, consisting of members that are regarded as brand advocates, influential media personalities and key influencers. So far, I got to attend other events organized by Dell such as this event where I got to test out a new P Dell laptop while learning more about Breast Cancer and detection/prevention of it.
I went on a 6-days vacation to Bangkok in August.
And a 3-days road trip to KL/Genting, also in August.
I had the opportunity to embark on a journey towards a slimmer silhouette with Marie France Bodyline, which you can read the blog posts and view the pics by clicking [HERE].
Had a wonderful and fun-filled staycation, thanks to Quincy Hotel!
Had a short HK weekend trip in October. A lovely dinner at The Mistral.
Had an enjoyable and lovely trip to Hong Kong with my dear family in November. (Blog post not up yet).
Partied in Taipei over a November weekend. By myself! Taipei is one of the best places in Asia to club!
Made one of the phone calls to the Police Hotline. I am no phone prankster, but I am someone who do not hesitate to call the Police to report about incident/accidents. And I am not those (boliao/ignorant people) who called to the Police to complain about their neighbours or their lost pets (But in the first place, I do not have a pet).
I partied at ZoukOut, yet again! That was one hell of a fun time that night! (Blog post + Pics to be up soon!)
And if having so many Philips appliances at home is not enough, my new Philips products for 2011 consisted of (1) Reading Light (given together in the media kit when I attended the Living Space event); (2) iPhone docking station (it was something I wanted, and it was a gift.); and finally (3) a LED-technology Eye Care Desk Lamp which I won from Joe (TechieLobang) blog giveaway in November!
Had a great Christmas staycation at Hilton Hotel with my dearest family. Nothing is as special as spending Christmas with them... The people who will stand by me no matter what happens.

If you are wondering how my Countdown was, I spent time with my family, watched the fireworks performance once the clock struck twelve midnight, and went to bed about 1am++. Very simple but nice way to usher in the new year.

Honestly, I know I have not been really blogging actively ever since I started on my current job (as compared to when I had my previous job). But I have been updating on my life through my TWITTER and INSTAGRAM accounts! (^_^)

Nevertheless, I would really like to thank each and every of you who had not gotten bored of my blog and whom are still visiting it regularly. One thing I intend to achieve in 2012 is to blog regularly! Which it should be easier for me to handle now, afterall I am more or less adapted well into my job already. What's more, I am gonna manage my "Work-Family life-Social life-Blogging life" in a better way from now on! So once again, I really appreciate all the support from all of you! Love you all lots! XOXO!

Ever since the last time that I walked along the Sentosa Boardwalk, I have not gone there again till a recent evening after work.

Dinner was at The Wine Company, located along the Sentosa Boardwalk.

We sat at the Al-fresco area, facing Vivocity and the sea. The lighting was dim (with Christmas lightings to add), it was breezy and rather quiet. The whole setting was really nice for a dinner date. Along with a glass of wine, it was indeed an enjoyable evening. :)

Red Velvet Cake

That I knew I had to try it when I was at Coffee Club one day.

And indeed, it tasted heavenly.

And I can't wait to taste it once again.

So I called the Police...

One day, I was in a cab traveling to my destination along the CTE. Out of a sudden, I saw a motorcyclist fell off from his bike and his bike skidded on the road. Thankfully, the car that was behind of him was not driving too fast on the highway. Otherwise, the driver would have hit him.

But why did the motorcyclist fall?

So this was what happened:
A lorry driver probably did not check his side mirror (Irresponsible!) and simply filtered right to the middle lane. The bike 'kissed' the back of the lorry and fell. The biker laid there in pain, injured, probably with a fractured arm. But the lorry driver did not know anything... Or perhaps he knew... I was not sure. BUT he drove off.

When I saw how the biker fell, I shouted "Oh My God!". Those words of shock came out of nowhere but it was simply a natural reaction of mine. I mean, afterall, I am a pillion rider at times... I wouldn't want anything to happen to my biker or me. Right? Luckily, a police car was entering into the CTE from Balestier Road and stopped to help the injured rider.

But it shocked me that the lorry drove off... Just like that!!?

So when my cab driver drove further down along the highway and I spotted that idiotic lorry had stopped at the side, I got my driver to stop the cab. A car had already stopped there too. Apparently, that car driver witnessed the accident and chased after the lorry driver to get the latter to stop. They were arguing and the lorry driver maintained that he did not cause the accident.

I was furious! Even if he felt that he did not knock the biker directly, he should at least stopped to check on him. I shouted, "WHY ARE YOU QUARRELING HERE WHEN YOU SHOULD BE CHECKING ON THE BIKER?!!". I got into a shouting match with him when he kept insisting that it was not his fault. I was rabid, alright...

I don't know what came over me, but I simply opened the cab door and aimed my camera at his lorry and vehicle plate number to take a picture (as seen below). Thinking back, it was rather dangerous that I did that. He was quite near me so he could have easily snatched my phone and throw it towards the road!

Afterwhich, I got back to the cab and asked the cab driver to drive off. Awhile later, I called '999' and reported the case. I described the physical appearance of the lorry driver and told the police the vehicle plate number. Awhile later, a Traffic Police officer and also an I/O from Tanglin called me for more information regarding the accident.

I hoped that the lorry driver would be brought in for questioning.
I am not sure what happened after that day... But I really hope that the biker is alright.

For all these years, it scares me whenever I witness any bike accidents.
The bike accidents that I usually see were those that had already happened... Simply means that the biker was either:
- Already sitting by the road side hugging his injured body part
- Being carried into the ambulance
- Or the worst scenario, already covered in that white cloth (May God bless your soul.)

So this was my first time that I really witnessed a bike accident, right before my eyes.

I have 2 scar marks from the bike's exhaust pipes from many years ago. But that's nothing.
I have friends who got injured while riding bike. Metal pieces inserted into their bodies.
I know of someone who passed away from a bike accident, and he was only 23 years old.

Riding is dangerous. Because drivers don't usually give a hoot about bikers.
And this is one thing I simply detest.

Not many people know, but I actually did went for motorcycle lessons.
Nothing could deter me from doing that.
I really love feeling the wind coming towards me as I ride.
The thought of owning and riding a Vespa is something that I always wished for.
But I stopped.

By the way, whatever we do is dangerous. Not just by riding a bike.
One can simply die by choking on a fish bone or while crossing the road.
If a car is safer than a bike, imagine the scenario where one is stuck in the car and is unable to escape out of it before the car explodes....

There you go.

For this month, I have been out of Singapore for 9 days. 9 days for last month. Always busy before and after my trips. Thus, apologies for the lack in blog entries. Practically wherever I may be!

I have been doing lotsa shopping recently (Both in shops and online) - Clothes, Shoes, Beauty-related items, etc... I will definitely be posting most of them up, which I just need to find time to do that. But nevertheless, here's what I bought online a week ago! Before the Black Friday madness haha! :)

I was really surprised to receive this. I was glad that I finally have it, as I have been shopping around for a docking station. The good thing is that the bass is awesome, I can play it real loud. I can charge my phone while playing my music too. It has the alarm clock/radio function... Though it kinda freaks me out sometimes when the radio turns on by itself in the morning and I get woken up by voices... But that's because my morning alarm is set to ring via the radio station, so the radio simply turns on lah. Haha! In fact, I can set my alarm to play my favourite music, buzzer alarm sound or radio station.

It's really nice to be surprised.

Unfurgivable! So have a Brazilian Wax @ Strip!

Recently, I went to the Strip Co-Ed Beauty Emporium located in Dempsey.
I was invited for a Brazilian Waxing Session at STRIP...

This was in conjunction with PETA's Anti-Fur Movement, where it is UNFURGIVABLE to wear or kill for fur/skin. I felt that it was a brilliant blend of marketing and social responsiblity move. If you aren't going to be wearing fur, you shouldn't have any fur down South too! :p

Despite the years of being to Strip, it was my first time to the outlet at the Beauty Emporium. I was drawn to their interior design (I have a thing for beautifully-decorated places)...

This was REAL dried-up paint. Totally amazing~

And there's the squeezy toys for those who need them!

Ahhh... Now we're talking~ :)
Nothing beats knowing that my VJJ is not sharing any of these with other VJJs. LOL!

Let's give our VJJ a good wet wipe before the wax, yah? :)

I always love those verses, phrases or words which Strip always have on
their ceilings in their waxing rooms...

I could choose either the chocolate or strawberry wax... For me, I chose the strawberry wax after trying it for the first time back then (Read my blog post on Strawberry Brazilian Waxing HERE!). You know how the top area of your VJJ may get irritating when the hair grows back and they are all like stubbles? But with this strawberry wax, it is not at all! Probably it is because of the additional ingredients of Chamomile and Aloe Vera, which helps to calm and sooth one's skin. :)

Other than the usual 'Do not wax just before your mensuration period as your skin will be more sensitive' tip that most wax therapists or friends will tell you, let me share with you one tip that I know (cos I read vastly! Duh!).... Schedule your wax appointment between 3 to 5 pm as one's pain threshold in at the highest during this period. This tip is also useful for those going for facial/skin/tattoo appointments. :p

I always feel liberated after going the Brazilian way each time.
I feel that my hygiene level goes up by 200%.
More clean and less messy during period.

The reds from ASOS!

Unknowingly bought both dresses in red during my latest shopping at ASOS.com.
But not too much of a surprise since I love the color red! :)

Btw, the back views are of the same color as the front view.
I'm just showing the back view designs.

I really love shopping at ASOS. They have apparels, accessories, shoes, swimwear, beauty stuff for both females and males! What I like most is that there's even a mini catwalk video for you to preview how your apparel looks like before you click on that button to add the item into your shopping bag. This allows me to view how the apparel looks like in real life and not just based on photos. The female models are so gorgeous! My favorite ASOS model is the one in the picture below.

And I just realised something which stunned me for a few seconds.... DID I BUY THE SAME DRESS?! Seemed like the full red dress which I just bought is the same as the one above! Hahahahaha! I have to go check the pink dress! Despite buying that in July, I have not even removed it from its packaging! :x

And.... It's a Public Holiday today!

Pink Fridays during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

I made a personal pledge with myself to "Wear The Pink Ribbon" on every Friday during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). And taking one step further, to also dress myself in pink! BCAM happens every October, where Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns take place globally.

I made this pledge after attending my very first Breast Cancer Awareness talk conducted by Singapore's Breast Cancer Foundation, a non-profit charity organization. During the talk, I was given an overview of breast cancer, the importance of early detection, how to conduct breast self examination and a survivor sharing her experience.

The talk took place during the Dell event which I was invited to, whereby we were also introduced to the Dell Inspiron 13z laptop, which comes in a pink color limited edition! Certainly brilliant of Dell (and the PR company) to have actually thought of combining both of their pink laptop launch and the pink movement together!

So here's my journey with the Pink Ribbon so far... :)

Was ill and on MC that period of time, but nothing could stop me from showing my support! :)

It was a busy week for me, but a pink Friday awaits me!

I do like this brooch pin alot. Not just because it signifies that I am in support of the BCAM campaign, but the design is really pretty, don't you think so? :) It has a diamante crystal in the middle, which certainly brightens up whatever one is wearing.

Sentosa Spooktacular. Get Spooked Out Before Halloween.

Recently, there was a media invitation to experience the horror of Asian folklore and myth at SIX of their spine-chilling Haunted Trails contained within the spooky shores of Sentosa Island. It is certainly something that you should experience it yourself, especially if you like to be spooked out. Or perhaps, give this ghostly Sentosa Spooktacular a try to test how gutsy you are! :p

The 6 spine-chilling trails are based at the various locations - Sentosa Nature Discovery, Cable Car Museum, Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom, The Merlion, Images of Singapore and Sentosa 4D Magix & Sentosa CineBlast, whereby each Haunted Trial has a frightening story behind it.

I shan't reveal out that much as I would prefer you to experience it yourself...

I am going to share something really exciting in this blog entry!

Yeap! I had a QOOL weekend staycation with him!

Quincy Hotel is an all-inclusive, 108-rooms boutique hotel in Singapore, catering to both business and leisure travellers. Located in the Orchard Road district, it is a stone's throw away to Singapore's shopping and food heaven. When I received the invitation to have a night stay at Quincy Hotel, I was super excited! Afterall, I know I will be having an awesome time, especially since the hotel was ranked FIRST in “The Trendiest Hotel in Asia” and SEVENTH in the “Top 10 Trendiest Hotel in the World” by the 2011 TripAdvisor® Travelers’ Choice® awards!

Quincy Hotel also received this award from Expedia...

and I took this picture when I was walking back to the hotel.
Just a 5 minutes walk... Yes, it is that near! :)

I liked how I can look out to the city while doing my workout.
There's also the sauna and steam rooms!

A variety of well-maintained & top-notch fitness equipments available!

There are also fresh towels, water and lockers for ya while you do your swim/gym.

And this's me, doing a heart-shaped hand pose with my twinny. :p

AND NOW, TIME FOR A QUICK ROOM TOUR...

This was the room I stayed in, where I slept on a king-sized bed,
on the 400 thread-count bedsheet, with a 42" LCD TV infront of me.
There are cable channels available and DVD players are available upon request.
There's the couch by the large windows, which I enjoyed sitting there,
admiring the cityscape of Orchard Road, while sipping my drinks.

And you can make your day into night in just seconds
by letting the night blinds down!

Bathrobes, steam iron, ironing board, shoe shine, shoe brushes, bath slipper
and laundry bag in the closet. Impressively, there is an electronic safe,
which is also for you to keep your laptop, other than your passport and whats-not.

I need this for my own room too... *Adds docking station to my To-Buy list*

One more thing, there are mirrors everywhere!
So the camwhore side of me emerged.. :p

One, Two, Three....... Triplets me!
Btw, the mirror part isn't exactly a mirror only, it is also the glass window for the bathroom.
You can only see into the bathroom from the room ,from a certain distance and angle, imo.

I would LOVE to show you the in-room mini bar, as well as the bathroom. But the problem is that 63 photos in my memory card got corrupted somehow. Else, I would wanna show you what is available in the minibar (water, soft drinks, beer!), the snacks and cup noodles that are complimentary too, the wonderful Molton Brown bath amenities for our use, and MORE! But it's ok... You can have a staycation in Quincy Hotel and see it for yourself! :p Or you can view the Youtube video as below. And there's MEEEEEEEeeeee in the video! Yes, ME! So you MUST watch!!! (^_^)

After doing the filming for the video below, I started to miss doing my previous work of filming/acting, like for TVCs, corporate videos and TV shows. Not that I have entirely stopped doing that (I wouldnt! For I have a passion in this actually!), but I kinda stopped due to my full-time job taking up most of my time. So I am kindly glad I did that quick filming segment!

My final post to share with you about my
journey with Marie France Bodyline (MFB)!

I really enjoyed this journey with MFB.
I could go on and on but you probably get bored, so here's why:

1. Professional and knowledgeable team of Consultants
Fiona was put in-charge of me, and I really appreciated her professionalism and her splendid ability to listen to my needs and concerns before tailoring a personalized slimming experience for me.

2. Experienced. professional and friendly Therapists
Since the therapists were the ones whom I would spend the most time with during every session (takes about 1hour+ to 2 hours each time) that I went, I was glad that they were really professional and friendly. They were detailed and customer-oriented. One therapist to point out was Abby, who left me a deep impression and I really enjoyed my treatment sessions whenever she is assigned to me. She was thoughtful, friendly and her massage is AWESOME! :)

I have been to many beauty centres for massages, spas and facials, and I would say that the MFB therapists whom were assigned to me during this journey were really professional and experienced, and they really do know their stuff well.

3. Technology
MFB has the most updated and advanced technology and equipment to provide the best slimming services to us. They also make sure that their slimming consultants and therapists attend the most updated training courses which allow them to obtain new and timely market knowledge. In this way, I was ensured that I was receiving treatments using the best and latest machine technology.

4. Wide range of body slimming/contouring treatments
I was told that MFB offers more than 100 different types of treatments to suit individual needs. The personalized slimming experience for each individual are tailored accordingly, thus one can be assured of excellent slimming needs with no side effects. And whats more, I know MFB places emphasis on treatment efficacy, thus I know I am in good hands! ^_^

5. Nutritional advice from In-house nutritionists
I liked the fact that not only do they focus on body slimming/contouring treatments, MFB has her team of professional Nutritionists who offered practical guide on optimum nutrition and balanced eating, based on their understanding and after analyzing my lifestyle and dietary habits, health and slimming requirements. No strict diet was insisted and there was no calorie counting to do (that would be exhausting if there is, right? *PHEW*) .

The nutritionists offered brilliant food replacement recommendations, such as substituting my daily cup of milk tea ("Teh") with milk or soy bean milk, and going without the butter/mayo spread on my ham/cheese sandwiches.

I liked the idea that they provided nutritional guideline sheets for me as a reference. These serve me as a guide to choose my meals wisely. For example, if I eat Satay beehoon, it contains 38g of Fat, where ideally..... one's average daily intake of fat should be less than 30g. So by looking at the chart, I will go for penang laksa (2g fat) or beef noodle (4g fat). You see the vast difference!?

I admit I am a foodie. I enjoy tasting new dishes and having new gastronomic adventures. I do not eat to live, I live to eat (Of course, I didn't become overweight or big-sized despite eating, as I always ensure that I have my regular exercises). But naturally, I do not go for fast-food or deep-fried food much. Nevertheless, it was still a huge switch when I decided to change my diet and make smarter food choices, as I was really determined to lower down my fat percentage, and probably a kilogram or two.

6. Safe, relaxing and non- invasive treatments.
I have never been to any slimming treatments before. I always thought that slimming treatments would be really uncomfortable and painful since the goal is to eliminate those fats out. Boy, I was wrong. MFB treatments are safe and so comfortable that I normally dozed off.

7. Relaxed and clean environment
The place is certainly clean and smells nice too! The soothing music played throughout the place was a plus-point. The dim lighting provided that warm feeling.

Their shower and toilet facilities were clean and well-equipped.

In this period of almost a month, I managed to lose close to 2 kilograms in weight. My fat level dropped, and I felt healthier with my new and smarter food choices. The whole MFB journey was amazing and I really appreciate and am glad that I have the opportunity to work with Marie France Bodyline and experience this splendid slimming journey with them..... The World's Slimming Professionals. :)

As the idiom goes, "You win some, you lose some".
For me, I lost weight and I gained nutrition knowledge.

My Journey with Marie France Bodyline (Part 3)

Here's Part 3 of my entry, of my journey with Marie France Bodyline (MFB)!

And in this post, it will be about the various types of treatments that I had throughout the few sessions I had at MFB. I really liked the fact that the treatments were all specially tailored to my needs and that there are specific treatments and machines which focus on specific parts of my body. In addition, the treatments are safe and effective, and are totally PAIN-FREE. Not that I am unable to take pain (In fact, I have a high threshold level for pain), but I have always thought that slimming treatments are probably very torturous... But after going for MFB treatments, that was not the case. In fact, it was relaxing and soothing that I usually fall asleep during my treatment. :)

As usual, I had to change to my bathrobe, disposable underwear and slippers. The reason to wear the disposable underwear is to avoid any of the slimming ingredients onto your precious La Perla or Chalone undies. :p Also, you can choose to remove your bra before you start your session... For me, I would as I feel more comfortable without it. But don't worry if you feel embarrassed, as the therapist would actually place a small towel onto your chest and use the cling wrap to go round your chest area.

These are the treatments that I had during my MFB journey. Although you may only notice that I went through like only a few treatments as described below, I did them more than once:

(1) Lymphatic Drainage Massage
This massage helps to promote a healthy lymphatic system by reducing any blockages, helping the lymphatic fluid to move smoothly throughout the body. By having a smooth movement, it improves our other body systems too. My therapist did this massage on my waist. She applied the right amount of pressure during the massage which felt so comfortable (Especially with her rhythmic hand massage strokes!) that I dozed off, haha! But I have to point out that I felt a warm sensation around my waist area... Probably it has something to do with blood circulation? But somehow, I do feel that such massages will help to burn some of the body fats.

(2) Perfect Body Mask

I have put masks for hair, hand, feet, face... But never a body mask. And so I had my first time trying out MFB's Perfect Body Mask. The therapist applied it onto my tummy area. It felt cooling, and then... I dozed off once again! That was how soothing the application process was. The mask contains collagen, which is an ingredient that I love to have in my beauty and food/drinks products!

My therapist shared with me that applying this mask regularly aids in attaining that awesome sexy silhouette! Erm, in that case, can I apply it everyday? LOL! So after leaving on my tummy for about 20 minutes, the mask would actually harden up. So imagine my surprise when I saw her removing it like it was 1 piece of plaster cast... Cos I thought the mask had dried up and had to be wiped off with a wet cloth.

(3) Cryocelle Phased Therapy (CPT)

This slimming therapy treatment is a process where stubborn stored fats is converted into energy, using the principle of "Thermolysis" (Meaning: Temperature Variance). This therapy promotes lymphatic drainage and deep tissue detoxification. By going through with this CPT, it helps to reduce my fat and cellulite deposits and provides relief for water retention. This also helps to improve my skin texture and also aids in my goal to achieve that awesome trim silhouette that I am aiming to have.

So this is the machine to use for the CPT.

This is the skin-tight bodysuit that I was telling you about.

I think you can choose to wear on your bra if you want to, but I preferred going without it.
It feels more comfortable to me. And yes, I have dignity, you know?
So I had to add on those black boxes to block out my private areas.
Other than that, no photo editing is done. So TA-DAH....
Oh yes, you can somewhat admire/critic my figure all you want.

This was the applicator that went round my full body.
My hands, legs, back, waist was given all the attention that they require.

There will be blue and green light rays emitting out from the applicator.
I felt like I was being scanned everywhere... LOL!

This treatment type is my most favorite of all the treatments that I have! Imagine lying on the bed and having like a revolving roller massager going around your body, pulling onto your skin and making it taut. I don't know if some may feel uncomfortable with that, but for me, I totally enjoyed it! I missed experiencing this in fact! :(

(4) Hot Thermal Insulator Wrap
After being scanned all over, I was asked to remove the bodysuit stocking and my arms and legs were being wrapped up like in the picture below.

Eventually, I was wrapped up in the thermal blanket, safe and secured.

With that, my therapist left me alone in the room while I went into a deep slumber for the next 20 minutes. I felt like I was lying on a thermal hot bed, and it felt so relaxing and comfortable. At that moment, I thought how great it is if there is a thermal bed like this, in a hotel room during the Winter season, instead of just the room heater. :p It was shared to me by my therapist that this treatment helps to prevent/reduce water retention and aids in converting those stubborn stored fats into energy.

Side track:
So far, do you realise that I kept falling asleep during most of the treatment sessions?
I can't help it! The treatments were totally pain-free and non-invasive!
It felt so comfortable and relaxing. ^_^

BUT there is 1 treatment which is SUPER EFFECTIVE, and I cna swear on it.
However, there is no way that I can doze off while undergoing the COLD TREATMENT. Yes, it was literally a COLD treatment! *brrrrrrr*

(5) Fat Mobilization System (FMS)
This was the ONLY treatment that I cannot take it because it was too cold. Yes, you can have the option of having a HOT wrap instead of this, BUT I was told that the Cold Wrap is more effective, so I firmed up my mind and soul to accept the freezing cold sensation of the wrap. By the way, this is MFB's signature wrap, so you know you will certainly see some results almost instantly. At least it did for me! :D

My therapist wrapped various long cloths that was soaked in their secret ingredient (which smelled rather herbal/medicinal by the way~) around both of my arms and legs, as well as my waist area. I felt like a MUMMY! :p Apparently, this therapy taps on our bodies' ability to burn excess fats through depleting the heat energy from within the body, which thus forces our body to compensate for the loss of heat energy through the conversion of the accumulated stored fats into energy.

For first-timers, the therapist would wrap a cling wrap over the cold wrap.

In this way, you will not feel that cold.

But subsequently, she wouldn't.
And it is not because they are stingy with their cling wrap...
But by going through the cold wrap process as it is, will be more effective.
So I beared with the coldness!

I have to add that the nice therapists which did the wraps for me would bring me hot towels for me to hold onto on and a hot cup of team while I beared the coldness while sitting in a nice room all by myself for 25 minutes.

So what also happens for that 25 minutes?
My hands get to enjoy a paraffin wax treatment, which softens them!
Say hello to the smooth hands of mine! Don't you just want to hold my hands now? :p

And other than the hand paraffin wax treatment,
I would be replying to tweets and emails...
Or I will be vain and take photos of myself as there is the long mirror in the room. :p

My Journey with Marie France Bodyline (Part 2)

Sorry for the late update, been busy with my travels...
But here's Part 2 of my journey with Marie France Bodyline (MFB)!! :)

There are 7 MFB branches in Singapore, and I had all my treatment sessions at their main outlet, which is located at International Building, level 8.

The warm lighting and design of the place made it really intimate and cosy, and I felt instantly at ease and comfortable when I visited for the first time. I was shown around the place - The rooms were of full privacy, clean and cosy too. I can't help but to admit that the soft soothing music played in the background was really pleasant and could put me to a nice slumber/nap while going through my treatments.

So to have a nice body silhouette,
it is not just regular exercise and undergoing MFB treaments that are necessary...

You need to have a healthy diet!
And that''s where MFB in-house nutritionists come into the picture!

Before I started my first treatment, I had a consultation with the nutritionist. First, a body composition analysis test was done using the machine as seen in the right of the picture below. I love to have this analysis done as it is really very informative and detailed. It can even analyse the fluid distribution percentage in specific part of my body. And all these analysis are done by simply stepping onto the machine and holding on to the 2 'handles' for less than a minute. Cool or what!

After this test, I had my BMI taken with the machine at the left of the picture below. Honestly, I do not usually focus much on my BMI but I take it as a guide only. Reason being is that if one had more muscles than fats, their BMI is higher but that does not mean that they are fat. For example, body builders. But of course, for non-bodybuilders like me, I still pay attention to it, but not much... Especially since I am concentrating more on building my muscle mass (and fyi, muscles is heavier than fats).

After taking these 2 tests, my nutritionist ran through each section with me and pointed out the areas which I have to focus on. I think the only worrying this is my waist-hip ratio, which thus means that my treatments are to be concentrated on my lower half body.

On top of that, my nutritionist sat down with me, and told me to share with her my diet plan. I told her that my work nature requires me to have business meals with my clients, and my meal timings are not fixed. My everyday breakfast of 1 packet of milk tea (Teh) and 2 slices of bread with butter, cheese and ham, which I will buy near my office was to be changed, and she suggested replacing my mill tea with fresh milk (since I need protein in my diet), and that to have my bread without any butter spread.

There was more that she shared with me, but the most important thing was to start having a diet diary where I record the food and drinks which I consume daily, whuch will be reviewed during my weekly consultations with her.

I was also given some food guidelines, as to which type of food should be eaten more and which is to be avoided, as well as which food is high in protein, fats, etc. I felt that the guidelines were very helpful as I really referred to them before I decide what to eat during the period that I had my treatments.

For the past 3 months before my first ever session at MFB, I did not wear my pair of jeans at all. It so happened that I wore jeans on the day that I went for my treatment. And truth to be told, I felt that my jeans were rather tight at my thigh areas when I put it on in the morning that day. And so I was more than determined to slim down my thigh areas, and also my waist area!!!

After the consultation, I had another consultation done with the slimming consultant who discussed with me the areas I can improve and I also shared with her the areas I would like my treatments to be focuses on. She also did a height and weight measurement for me, and also measure the various parts of my body like my waist and hips. The slimming consultant is the one who will arrange different treatments during each visit of yours, based on your progress and your needs. Thus, one's treatment programme is tailored to each unique individual! Awesome~

After changing, the therapist brought me to do another weigh-in using a weighing machine scale similar to the one in the picture below, before showing me to my treatment room.

My Rainbow Xiao Long Baos!

Ever since my last time to Paradise Dynasty (located at Ion Orchard), I was looking forward to eat my rainbow Xiao Long Bao again! Colorful dumplings that look AND taste yummy! I blogged about it previously (with pics), which you can read it by clicking [HERE].

So quite awhile ago, I had a Xiao Long Bao dinner one day after work, whereby 2 of us ordered 4 baskets of it - Three rainbow xiaolongbaos & one original flavored xiaolongbaos. A total of 34 xiaolongbaos!

On top of that, he actually ordered 1 bowl of La Mian, but I forgot to take a picture of it, as I was busy (and happily) eating my rainbow xiaolong baos. By the way, I know they aren't called 'Rainbow Xiao Long Baos', and yes I do know that the dumplings are not of rainbow colors, but they are so colorful that this is what I called it as.

We also ordered Wo Tie....

And we ended our meal with dessert for each of us - Almond Jelly.

We were both super full after the meal.

1 bowl of lamian and dessert is really no joke! :p

Shopping! Singapore Presidential Election! NATAS Fair! 2011

The past 2.5 weeks were really busy for me - I went to Bangkok and Taipei, and just last weekend I had a staycation at Quincy Hotel. And just this evening, a short holiday getaway for the long weekend was planned, and with bookings/payments made. Supposedly to have the trip from Sunday onwards, it was pushed forward to Saturday (which is tomorrow!). So after I cast my vote for the Singapore Presidential Election 2011 tomorrow morning, I will be heading off! A last-minute plan, but I am VERY excited! (^_^)

But no matter how busy I might have been, I was still able to shop online. And these were what I bought:

Heading on a holiday trip with Bbb soon.
It's been ages since our last holiday in Jan, so I am really excited!
Certainly a much-needed holiday before work starts.
But most importantly, it is to spend time together.

Afterall, I wouldn't know when our next trip will be.
Other than because of work schedules, we are both saving up for something. BIG.

Dell Access Program

On a recent Friday evening, I went for a Dell event for the Dell Access Program launch, that was jointly presented by Intel. It was held at Art Trove, a place where beautiful art pieces are admired and displayed. The venue was indeed very suitable for the event, especially where both are parallel in being creative, brilliant and innovative.

The Dell Access Program was conceptualized to bring together brand advocates, influential media personalities and other key influencers to form a synergistic, passionate community that matters. With such a program, like-minded people can leverage on this exclusive platform to exchange ideas, discuss trends and to be among the first in the region to obtain the latest news and information from Dell.

The Dell Access Program is currently 'by-invite' only, and I am glad to be part of this as it means that by being a member, I can expect to receive a string of activities and announcements around the region in the coming months way before most people (Eg. Those not in the Program/media/Dell).

Of course, there are exclusive privileges that will come along with it... For example, we could own the Alienware 14x at a VERY good price - A price that was so awesome that I was really 'gian' to buy (especially since I am a gamer and one should know that Alienware laptops are "The One" which combines mobility and ultimate gaming performance)!

Somehow, it seems like I have to compromise... Like how one has to compromise in life-related matters. If I want a good gaming laptop, I have to accept the weight and bulkiness. If I want a slim and light laptop, I probably have to accept it being not that good in terms of gaming performance. If only there is a laptop that is of the 'best of both worlds', that will be such a delight! Oh well!~

Speaking of slim laptops, I have to tell you about the Dell Vostro V130! This 13-inch laptop comes in silver, black and HOLY MOLY.... in my favorite color: RED!!!! It is one of the lightest and thinnest ultra-portable laptops in the market right now. I was blown away by the sleekness and design of the V130. on top of it, it is the first ultra-thin laptop that offers the Hyper Baric Cooling technology, which is an Advanced Cooling Technology by Intel.

When I saw the Vostro V130, I was really blown away by it. In comparison to the V130, my company laptop (Dell) that I am using is bulky and heavy (but with newer specs). It is something I am not used to since all my personal lappys were usually slim and lightweight. Yes, I love slim & light laptops so much that I ever got myself one that cost $3,999 as it was one of the slimmest and lightest lappy in the market back then. Thus, the V130 seems like "THE" laptop for me for work purpose. Imagine slotting it into my handbag? Makes bringing it to meetings and work trips easier too~ :p

Ok, enough of my gushing over the V130. Since this model has been out in the market for quite some time now, I will probably wait and see if they will release a newer model with improved features in the coming months... And hopefully, they will have it in red, which may entice me to get it for myself. :p

And this is currently the thinnest 15-inch PC in the market - the XPS 15z!

First in a series of new thin, ultra-portable laptops from Dell this year, the XPS 15z is a combination of uncompromising performance and luxury-inspired craftsmanship and design. The design is indeed sleek and sophisticated and supports one's mobile lifestyle without weighing one down. Super awesome or what?

There were also other Dell laptops on display such as the Inspiron 14R and 15R that delivers incredible mobile entertainment, high-definition displays and outstanding battery life. On top of that, there are interchangeable lids that you can switch whenever you feel like it to suit your mood or personality! :)

We were also treated to a performance by Randolf Arriola, using the Dell Streak and an Android app. Also, we were amazed by the live artwork demostration by TraseOne! Indeed, this event combines creativity, design and technology into one. I can't wait for more of such Dell events that will be coming up! Will certainly share more with you guys in future~ :)

Few weeks ago, I was in Orchard and I arranged a lunch meeting with my friend. I wanted to have something healthy but I couldn't think of any cafe/restaurants in town which offers healthy food selection. Was it that difficult for me to think of one such place? Really??? :-/ But anyway, I went through that brain and memory of mine and Cedele was it.

The Cedele by The Baking Depot offers a good range of healthy and quality food for the health and diet conscious. Natural and organic ingredients are found in their salads, soups, sandwiches, cakes and more. And when some of the dishes require that little bit of sugar, Cedele uses organic unrefined sugar.

Between the both of us, we shared this Burmese Shan tofu salad.
This tofu salad is authentically made with balsamic vinaigrette and fragranced with fresh coriander leaves, garlic and onion flakes. I LIKED THIS ALOT!

We both ordered leafy green salads for ourselves.
My lunch partner had the Tuna Salad.

And this was what I ordered - Shrimp, avocado and tofu mix salad.
A salad that consists of shrimps, avocado, iceberg and romaine lettuce salad,
with homemade miso dressing.

I also ordered a glass of the ABC juice.

Philips Living Space. Lovely creative lighting!

Recently, I attended the Philips Living Space event, where Philips showcased their innovative, creative and lovely lighting solutions. It was an event for their partners and media. It was a cosy and intimate event that was enhanced with the lighting displays.

This was one of the products that were showcased - LUMIWARE Vase.

I was really amazed by all the lighting, as I didn't know of such lighting products from Philips till I attended this event, as all these while I was only aware of their table lamps and bulbs. I am especially intrigued by this particular product from Philips - LivingColors LED Lamp. I stood there playing and adjusting the colors, hues and brightness 'for I-dunno-for-how-many-minutes-but-for-quite-some-time'. Having this LED lamp in the living room or bedroom definitely add a new kind of atmosphere to the area. I liked the LED Lamp product the most, followed by this other product that was showcased - Reading Light.

This Reading Lamp is really interesting as it is actually a flat acrylic piece whereby a LED lamp is installed to it. The design was made in a way that it can actually 'hang onto' your book. Certainly good for those who has to read in the dark or dim places. Example: You wanna read your favorite novel/magazine on the bed, but your partner wants to sleep and he/she can't sleep if you leave the room light or bedside lamp switched on. This will come in really handy! I was interested to get this product after learning that it is already available in the market. And little did I know, it was given to me in my media kit bag! I only found out about it when I reached home that night. What an AWESOME surprise!!!! This retails for SGD99 by the way.

Not that I am a brand-loyal customer, but somehow I realized that I have quite a number of consumer goods by Philips. Somehow, I think my Mum is prone to buying Philips too? I don't know why! :p For myself, I have 2 hair dryers, 2 hair epilators, 1 hair straightener, 1 hair curler, 1 handheld vacuum cleaner and 1 table lamp. My bro has 1 DVD player for himself. Our family's vacuum cleaner, home theater system and juicer are also from Philips.

And my parents even have this InfraCare infrared lamp.
Supposedly to relieve pain and stimulates blood circulation.

I think epilating is better than shaving, if given only these 2 options.

These 2 were bought for me by Bbb.

Review: DHC Medicated Acne Care- Pore Cover Base

Watsons sent me the Pore Cover Base from DHC awhile ago.

Its purpose is quite similar to Revlon's Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer which I blogged previously (You can read the entry by clicking [HERE]), such as it helps to cover uneven skin and pores while giving your skin surface a natural finish. BUT BUT BUT... Additionally, this product is a makeup base specially designed for acne care. It contains concentrated olive oil and Artichoke leaf extract for skin nourishment and acne care.

Therefore, on top of using it as a makeup base before you pile on your face concealer, foundation and powder, its other purpose is great for those who wants something for their acne concern too! Hooray!~

In my opinion, the base really feels very smooth to the touch, something like a waxy feeling. It does an excellent job in concealing my pores and my makeup lasts longer whenever I use this. The absorption capability is quite good too, so you do not have to wait for more tha mere few minutes, before continuing with the rest of your makeup regime. Overall, I feel that this product is worth a try, especially if you want a makeup base that has ingredients to battle your acne problem! :)

As most should know, I love having red nails. This has been how it is for years.
I myself have no idea why I'm entering into the 'Pink zone'.
I started choosing pink shades for my last few manis. It is so NOT Feliza.
But then again, if people and feelings can change... Preferences can change too.
So hearts get broken, and tears dropped...
And yes, I am saying this to something in particular.

Pencil dresses/skirts are the classic 1950s fashion, and during that era, ladies had fuller figures. And I realized my choice for dress styles/cuttings lean towards those in the 50s, such as pencil dresses and those dresses with A-line/Princess cut which the style is of a slim waist and wide skirts (it was first introduced in the 50s by Christian Dior, but was considered immoral in that era of rationing as it was just after a war)... But I prefer mine just above knee length, not the longer length of back then.

Review: Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater Hand Therapy Cream

In this particular blog post, I mentioned that I love anything that is rose-related... Thus, it would be no surprise that the hand cream that I use contains the rose ingredient. Months back, I bought this Rosewater Hand Therapy Cream by Crabtree & Evelyn, just before they changed their packaging design to something more colorful. But I still prefer their former design (the one as seen below) than the current one. In short, I would describe the former design as "Simplicity at its best".

The cream has a pleasant smell and it is not overpowering at all.
It absorbs quickly, and it does not have that sticky feeling.
I left one in my office so that I can apply it as and when I feel like it.
And I also gave one tube to my sis who applies hand cream too.

Hand cream is indeed very important. It not only helps to moisture, rehydrate, smoothen and soften your hands, but it also helps to maintain the youthful appearance of it. Do you know that it is very easy to guess a person's age just by their hands? Thus, hand cream is realllllly important. And that is why I have started using it, especially since constant exposure to aircon can be really drying for the skin. :)

P/s: This is a super backlogged post.... So yup.... But months after using this cream, I am still loving it! Which kinda remind me that I should head to the store and get this again. My current tube is almost finishing! ^_^

Movie - Transformers 3: Dark of The Moon

Friday movie date night with Bbb was watching the movie, Transformers 3: Dark of The Moon. I watched it in 3D and it was spectacular! Ok... and probably also because I had this thing for Transformers ever since I was a kid. My sis and I used to have the Transformers toys which will morph into robots, and we would play together. Autobots... Decepticons...

Apart from a scene where you can see tons of gorgeous ladies, there is also the female lead, Carly, played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (who replaced the sultry Megan Fox) which you will see strutting her way around in bodycon dresses and TDF heels. But I think the most epic thing about her was that she was running and running in the movie while wearing her heels...

I know I should be focusing on the robot battles during the movie (more about the battles later~), but I couldn't help to notice that for certain scenes, she was wearing flats (which supposedly, she should be wearing heels). Check out the picture below and you will know what I mean. But yeah, she did mentioned that she wore flats for some scenes, click this [LINK] to read her interview.

Ok, so on to the deception, betrayal, spaceship, robots and battle..
The final battle (at Chicago) probably lasted for an hour or so. It was certainly worth every cent of your money that you spend on the movie ticket. The CGI effects were fabulous and totally out of this world. They were MIND-BLOWING, probably better than whatever blows one may have before... Imagine having giant robot snakes toppling buildings and more of such massive mayhem stuff in the movie?! Bay has certainly proven himself once again, and I have to say, this is probably one of the best work by Bay.

Also, the scene where the soldiers jumped off a plane and to landing was breathtaking. They were wearing some sort of a wing-like suit that enabled them to glide in the air... When I saw how they looked like, I thought of the flying squirrels immediately. LOL!

Check out the video below. Found the video where you can see them jumping off, wearing the wing-like flying suit. Somehow, them gliding in the air it reminded me of myself paragliding when I was in Switzerland back then. The feeling was wonderful, but of course in their case, it was a matter of defending their world and battling the bad guys.

I wouldn't go deeper into the movie plot as I really feel that you guys should watch this action-packed-to-the-max movie. Josh Duhamel is Soooooooo dashing! Ken Jeong (the dude who played Chow in 'The Hangover' movie) once again showed his comedic side which he played as Wang, an ex-NASA guy who was forced to work with the Decepticons to uncover evidence about the crash landing in the 60s. My only gripe is that how a guy that looks like Sam (played by Shia Laboeuf) gets to be the boyfriend of hot chicks like Megan Fox and Rosie! And also, I was kinda disappointed that Bay did not portray the Autobots as close to the original characters. Oh ok, make that two gripes that I've got. :p

Review: DHC Acerola Trial Kit

Awhile ago, Watsons sent me the DHC Acerola Trial Kit. I did not have the chance to use it till recently when I went on my holiday trips, where it is more convenient to bring travel-sized bottles instead of the full-sized ones.

Acerola is very rich in Vitamin C and is tailored to fairness concern. Vitamin C has much benefits such that it brightens a dull complexion, reduce the appearance of open pores, control acne and discourage breakouts, and most importantly.. Promotes healing and lowers the risk for scarring.

And when I found out that this series contains the acerola ingredient... I was looking forward to try it out! Especially so since acerola helps in collagen synthesis and improving our skin elasticity, and it contains 34 times MORE Vitamin C than what's found in a lemon! By the way, the DHC Acerola Brightening series is more suitable for oily/combi skin as it is too 'heavy' for us, living in this tropical country that may trigger the over-production of sebum! :)

The trial kit consists of the following 4 items (and that lovely case!):

(1) Deep Cleansing Oil: It is the same as the one found in the DHC Sube Sube Trial Kit (which I did a review before, click [HERE] to read what I think of it).

(2) Mild Soap: Similarly, do click [HERE] to read my review for this product. In my previous review, I mentioned that my only gripe regarding the mild soap was that it comes in a soap bar form which I was not used to and that I preferred bottle/tube packaging.

Here is an update of what I think.... Well, I prefer the mild soap bar from now. It is especially compact and small in size that it does not waste precious space in the luggage, as compared to cleansers that are usually stored in a bottle/tube. By bringing the mild soap for travel, it is one less liquid item to pack into your cabin luggage since it is not in liquid form (which also means I can maximise on the liquid allowance!). I know I can check-in my luggage, but when you are on business tirps, sometimes it is better to just carry the luggage onboard the plane.

Anyway, for my previous Mild Soap bar, it lasted me close to two months, and that was just the trial size. Imagine if you buy the normal-sized bar? Totally bang for your buck! ^_^

(3) Acerola Lotion: This is the toner that is to be used after cleansing. The main ingredient is the acerola berries, which contains one of the richest natural sources of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is very effective in helping your skin to prevent visibly uneven skin tone, fine lines , skin dullness and other signs of premature ageing, due to the free radical damage caused by overexposure to the sun or pollution. Since I started using it from the last week of May, I feel that my skin looks more radiant. Not sure if it just me, but somehow I feel refreshed and cheerful when I pat on the Acerola Lotion onto my face using my palms. Perhaps it is the light and refreshing feeling of the toner, or the pleasant scent that gave me those positive feelings.

(4) Acerola Gel: A moisturizer that is non-greasy and non-sticky at all! The remarkably-high Vitamin C content is something that I simply love! And it lock in moisture, which is something really awesome since dehydrated skin can lead to acne too! :( Just use an amount about the size of a 10-cent coin and you are good to go! :)

I have to say that the DHC kit was definitely very convenient to bring on trips and its products were really nice to use. In fact, I will recommend this, rather than the DHC Sube Sube Trial Kit. But of course, it still depends on your skin type and needs. :)

Strawberry Wax, Brazilian Wax. Strip it!

Strip (aka Ministry of Waxing) invited me to a brazilian waxing session recently. The waxing session was done at Mandarin Gallery, which was perfect since I planned to go for my threading session at Browhaus (also under Strip, and is located just beside it) after I was done with the brazilian wax that evening.

I was looking forward to this waxing session as it was not just the usual waxing that was done on my intimate area (my VJJ area), but something yummy and delicious was applied onto it...

Yes... STRAWBERRY wax... Yummy!! :p

So I was shown to a room to get changed...

With a cute cushion to hug if one feels scared/pain...
(But seriously, it was not pain at all. Will tell you why.)

So this was my wax therapist who was (1) professional, (2) experienced, (3) swift in her action, to pull out the hardened wax *Thank God, otherwise it will be awfully pain*. My threshold level for pain is quite high, and since B-waxing is not something fearful/painful for me, so yes... I took the photo (as seen below) while she was waxing for me.

After the wax, she applied the ampoule content on my VJJ area. This ampoule, named 'Peace', helps in moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and slows down the hair growth over time.

Other than the strawberry wax, there are the strawberry body butter and scrub too!

La Vie En Rose, says Edith Piaf.

I was blown away by the movie "La Vie En Rose" after watching it the first time. It was a film that depicts the life story of the French icon, Edith Piaf. So inspired, so in love and in awe with Piaf, her life and her songs, I got the movie DVD which I watch every now and then over the years. I also shared this love of mine with my partner, which he too appreciates her songs especially.

When I discovered that Sing'theatre was putting up a performance show in tribute to the French's greatest popular singer, I knew I had to watch it! So with Bbb, we spent our recent Saturday afternoon at the DBS Art Centre, to be taken on a journey into Edith Piaf's life through songs sung by Denise Tan, Robin Goh, Angela Scundi and Hilde Holme. Oh, and our "Singapore Boy", Hossan Leong, was the lead and narrator, and he also sang too! And I was surprised that he could sing really well!

And I also have to add that the music played by Elaine Chan, Chee Wah Yong, Lee Lin Chow and Julian Wong made the whole performance a complete one! The director of the show, Nathalie Ribette, has done a great job in putting together the wonderful cast and musicians to bring out such a magnificent show!

Hossan Leong gave a splendid narration of Edith Piaf's life. Through the impressive singing and voices of the other performers, I was taken on that journey which I have been looking forward to, by picturing the going-ons in the life of Edith Piaf...

Indeed, Edith Piaf meant it when she ever mentioned, "I want to make people cry even when they don't understand my words". You see, I only understand basic French, thus despite that I don't understand most of her songs, it was emotional enough to make me cry when I heard the following 2 songs...

The Three Bells/Les Trois Cloches (It was sung in English).

My God / Mon Dieu (Sung in French). I knew the English lyrics and the meaning behind this song... So when I heard the moving tune, I was so moved and touched till I dropped tears.

There were, of course, happy tunes that were sung... Afterall, Edith Piaf had her 'ups' in life too... Songs like 'Milord' and 'Mon Manège à Moi' reflected it all. During the 1.5 hour of performance, I could not help but to feel even closer to Edith Piaf. Though it has been 48 years since her death, she still remains somewhere in the hearts of her fans, including Bbb's and mine.

In Edith Piaf's life, it was all about love. She sang about love and she lived for love, which reminds me of a scene in the La Vie En Rose movie which I would like to share with you: A young and pretty American journalist was interviewing her on a sunny beach while Piaf was knitting (her favourite hobby since young, by the way.). And this was part of the interview questions and answers...

If you were to give advice to a woman, what would it be? Love.
To a young girl? Love.
To a child? Love.

'If there is one word that can take the place of Paris, it is the word Piaf',
says Marlene Dietrich.

A Mother's Day Celebration

Mother's Day was last week and our family celebrated this special day by having a home-cooked meal (prepared by the Man of my Mother [aka my Dad], who can cook rather well btw). Afterwhich, we kids presented to her a Mother's Day card and a cake, followed by a fun photo session! (^_^)

Cake was from Perla's Pastry Boutique.
It looked not just beautiful, but tasted wonderful too! Thumbs up!

And Sis bought me a jar of rock candies from Made In Candy.
And that's because it has PENGUINS as their design! Yeap, my fav animal~~ :D

MM Lee Kuan Yew and SM Goh Chok Tong to step down from Cabinet.

After a week since the recent 2011 election, an official joint statement by MM Lee and SM Goh was released:

"We have studied the new political situation and thought how it can affect the future. We have made our contributions to the development of Singapore. The time has come for a younger generation to carry Singapore forward in a more difficult and complex situation. The Prime Minister and his team of younger leaders should have a fresh clean slate. A younger generation, besides having a non-corrupt and meritocratic government and a high standard of living, wants to be more engaged in the decisions which affect them. After a watershed general election, we have decided to leave the cabinet and have a completely younger team of ministers to connect to and engage with this young generation in shaping the future of our Singapore.
But the younger team must always have in mind the interests of the older generation. This generation who has contributed to Singapore must be well-looked after."

They are going to step down from the Cabinet, to have the younger ones to take over. Shocking news to me... But will the younger team of ministers be able to connect and engage well with the younger generation (probably the ages of 35 and below)?. For myself, so far I have not been able to find a Cabinet minister which I find that I can connect well to. Despite the 'threat' that MM Lee made during the recent election campaign to the Aljunied GRC residents which infuriated many, I have to add that he has done a great job all these years, especially during the early years of Singapore.

Family Lunch at Paradise Dynasty, Ion Orchard.

Awhile ago (In March or April, I think... Super backlogged post mann~), my family had our Sunday lunch at Paradise Dynasty located in Ion Orchard, which is one of the Chinese restaurant brands under the Paradise Group. It was my first time dining at this place.

One of their specialty dishes is the multi-colored dumplings,
or also known as Xiao Long Baos.

When I knew that we were heading to Paradise Dynasty for lunch, I was very excited as I heard so much about the colorful dumplings that come in various interesting fillings (including my favorite foie gras!), that I was looking forward to try! We ordered two basket trays of it and boy, the taste was amazing~~~

Different xiao long bao color means different fillings in it...
So let me share with you what they are:

Pink: Steamed Shanghai Sze Chuan Pork Dumpling: Original xiao long bao taste.
Yellow – Steamed Shanghai Cheesy Pork Dumpling: Strong taste of the cheese filling, iLike.
Green – Steamed Shanghai Ginseng Pork Dumpling: I didn't want to try this.
Black – Steamed Shanghai Black Truffle Pork Dumpling: Difficult to taste the black truffle, but strong pleasant aroma though!
Brown – Steamed Shanghai Foie Gras Pork Dumpling : A subtle hint of the goose liver. Nothing beats eating one piece of foie gras by itself. And I SHALL have foie gras soon!
Grey – Steamed Shanghai Garlic Pork Dumpling : Didn't try this too, as the dull color was enough to turn me off HAHA!
White – Steamed Shanghai Pork Dumpling : Rich pork taste in it. iLike.
Orange – Steamed Shanghai Crab Roe Pork Dumpling : Crab roe in pork dumpling was brilliant! iLike!

This was the one with crab roe filling.

While waiting for the rest of the dishes to arrive, I took pics! Btw, I love the chairs!
They have such a high back which make the whole place look posh. Agree?
And I can lean my head back and it would be so well-supported! :p

What I ordered: La Mian in Signature Pork Bone Soup with Pan Fried Chicken Chop

I like the smoothness of the La Mian, especially felt when I 'sucked' in the noodles to eat. :p Although it was supposed to be pan-fried (means minimal oil used in cooking), the chicken was too oily for me that I didn't finish them but gave it to Bbb to eat instead. The bowl was really big, and I do like the intricate designs of it. The serving size was just nice for me (But please take note that I have a hearty appetite, so it may be too much for some of the ladies.).

Also, I learnt that their signature soup was made using ingredients like pork bone, pork ribs and whole chicken, which is simmered over slow fire for 12 hours before being served.

The Dinner Date at Wild Honey

On a recent Saturday date with Bbb, we headed to Orchard for an afternoon of shopping and dining afterwards. And this was what I wore out with him...

A toga draped dress in teal color, matched with a belt, and my 5" beige heels.
The material was very comfortable... It feels like silk (or maybe it was really silk haha!).

I also like the slight pleated design around the chest area...

And so happened that I was at Far East Plaza to collect a bag that I sent for cleaning, I decided to drop by theblogshop store which is located in the same building itself ! :) When I entered the shop, I was greeted with a massive crowd of eager savvy shoppers (like you and me!). Apparently, there was a huge sale going on that weekend and of course the arrival of new stocks.

Will tell you something later, so read on... But I have pointed her out already ah...

After shopping, Bbb and I decided to have an early dinner, and I suggested Wild Honey, a restaurant located in Mandarin Gallery, as I heard so much raves about this place that I wanted to try.

Upon entering, I realized that the dining tables and chairs were not the usual standardized sort. Like for example, the seats which we were shown to, was actually a narrow long table and our seats were made up of a two-seater sofa seat. The sofa was getting so comfortable that I think I got too comfy that I had to stop myself from snuggling up with Bbb.... Afterall, it was a public place. :p

There was no menu sheet/booklet. We had to see what's available from the wall boards that were at the counter area. Afterwhich, like a fast-food establishment, one then orders and pays at the counter, before returning to the seat.

Bbb had the European set, which is simply Wild Honey's version of Eggs Benedict. Two perfectly poached eggs, sauteed mushrooms and prosciutto on toasted homemade brioche and hollandaise sauce

For myself, I had the Stephanie's steak sandwich... 120g grass fed Australian ribeye, shaved onion, beetroot, parmesan cheese, grain mustard and fresh horseradish on toasted ciabatta.

Our food took quite awhile to arrive. Service was not fantastic. I requested and then specified again that I did not onions in my burger, but then I found them in my burger. It was served in a wooden chopping board, rather unique way of presenting the food item. Anyway , that was the first eggs benedict that Bbb had ever since the last time at Layana in Ko Lanta last year.

The total cost for these two items we ordered was close to S$50, inclusive of service charge and GST. Honestly, the food and the service was not fantastic. I regretted suggesting this place for dinner, in fact. The only plus point was the decor and furniture, as well as for the fact that the food offered is somehow very "breakfast-ish", so one is no longer restricted to having such food only in the mornings. Otherwise, nahhh.... This would probably be our first and last time at Wild Honey for a meal. Drinks, maybe... But still quite unlikely as the drinks are rather pricey too and I can't find any reason to justify the price.

After dinner, we took a short stroll before heading to a watering hole near Clark Quay to join his friends. This place caters not only to drinks and karaoke, but also darts! It was my first time throwing darts and it was quite fun! Especially since it kinda reminded me of my Marksmanship previously in Npcc. :p

Remember earlier on in this entry where I mentioned about the girl in white in theblogshop store? Here's the story... Just as I entered the pub, she saw me and then she went, "Ehhh! I saw you at theblogshop just now!", and I freaking swear that she complimented me by saying "你真的好美" (her exact words). I know, I know... I should be modest, but too happy already, so let me be thick-skinned for once and share it in my blog.... :p

So this is my Beloved... Darting away... :)

So we are awesome "darters", but one thing he failed to 'dart'
was to 'dart away from my love for him'. And I think he preferred that anyway! LOL! :p

We left about 1am++ and had supper.
A very nice date out indeed. Really enjoyed myself! (^_^)

Review: Laneige Multiberry Skincare

Ever since I tried the sample pack for Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel and Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack, I fell in love with these two products that I went to buy the full-sized versions! There are various types of berries found in this Multiberry skincare line -- Raspberries, Blueberries, Wolfberries, Cranberries and Strawberries. The berries actually provide nutrients and antioxidants to eliminate harmful free radicals.

Free radicals, as what it is stated in this [Site], described that it can be found in "the air we breathe, the foods we eat, sunlight, and pollution -- basically, just about everywhere. Eating foods rich in antioxidants is one way to ward them off. Another is to apply them on the skin, where they can seep underneath to strengthen skin cells and keep them healthy.".

Other than the berry contents, this Multiberry line also contains a specialized fermented yogurt ingredient called Sogurty (Reminds me of the Yogurt place, Sogurt. Lol~). Sogurty helps the skin to be firmer and healthier and has anti-inflammatory effects. And what I like most is that Sogurty promotes collagen synthesis! :)

Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel

The retail price is S$42 for a 120ml. It is pretty in pink and comes in a tube. I prefer such packaging as it is really easy to squeeze out the contents. This peeling gel has natural Konjac (Mannan) beads which gently exfoliate dead skin cells and impurities, thus giving a smooth complexion. It was really a gentle scrub process and it feels like having a light soothing face massage. :p

The peeling gel is of a light pink color. The scent is so natural and so berry-yummylicious that I had to repeat to myself that this is to be applied on my face and not to be tasted. The berry scent is so lovely that once I have the peeling gel on my face, a smile appears on my face. It is like I am having a home spa facial or something!~

So I will squeeze out the peeling gel about the size of a 20-cent coin and rub it gently over my face, with my finger tips in circular movements. I wash it off with lukewarm water. I use about twice a week. For the other days I will use my Queen Helene Oatmeal and Honey Natural Facial Scrub (Yes, it can be used daily!). So after washing off the peeling gel, I will use the Repair Pack next.

Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack

The Repair Pack comes in the 80ml size, for S$45. It is to be used AFTER the Peeling Gel. It is a rinse-off mask as I was told to apply it on my face after doing the facial scrub and leave it on for 5-10 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water. Though it is a leave-on, it does not harden up like how some masks do. So it can be quite messy since it may drip. :(

There is a protective seal to remove when you use it for the first time. And when you do remove it, prepare to breathe in the wonderful berry scent! I love opening the jar as the scent smells so pleasant! And yes, the reason why I bought the full-sized versions was mainly because of the scent! Crazy reason, maybe.... But once you smell it, you will understand why! :p And it smells and looks like yogurt so much so that there is a need to put a warning "Caution: Do not eat" in the Laneige webpage for this product. LOL! :p

The Repair Pack comes in a a jar packaging, so I used the spatula to scoop out the amount I need. In this way, it will not contaminate the remaining content in the jar. It has a rich creamy texture and is of a light pink color. What I don't like about this Repair Pack is that my skin does not feel silky smooth after rinsing off the product. It always irks me that I will use a mild cleansing agent like Cetaphil after that.

Apparently, this skincare line also aids in hydrating the skin and to brighten it up. I feel that it does not do much in the brightening portion. For hydrating, it feels the same, as I think my current hydration source is from the ZA Dewy Effect Creamy Gel (You can get it in Watsons stores). I really think that this particular ZA product works wonder for dehydrated skin (one reason behind acne problem, btw!). So if you ask me if I were to repurchase again, I will say 'Yes' for the Peeling Gel, mainly because of the gentle exfoliating beads, and partly because of the scent. Or maybe I am lying to myself, probably it is mainly because of the scent? Hehehe~ Just joking! :p

Hong Kong Holiday Day 5

Before we know it, it was already the last day of our Hong Kong holiday trip... The fifth and last day! It also means that this is the last blog entry for my Hong Kong escapade. In this entry, I will also be sharing what I bought during my trip in Hong Kong.

Late morning, we had brunch with the Hong Kong relatives at this Hong Kong Dim Sum restaurant called Jade Garden (翠園). The establishment was decorated so lavishly with fine chandeliers hanging from the beautiful ceilings that have intricate carvings on it. The staff pushed those traditional dim sum trolleys (點心車仔) that were filled with many bamboo round trays of goodies. Each of the bamboo baskets had the food labels in Chinese and English, which made it easier for me to select what I wanted.

Some of the dim sum, of which, I have never even come across before. It was like food porn to some extent as there was a great selection of dim sum, and especially since there were some weird but interesting dishes. :p Oh, if you still have no idea after reading the food labels, you can request to the 'trolley dolly' to open the cover for you to take a look.

We ordered numerous dim sum dishes that was so delicious that I simply stuffed myself with them, thus I have totally forgotten to take pictures. You may call me a glutton, if you want. :p Actually, I was hungry too... BUT I did take photos of two new food dishes which was my first time eating them (and I love them!)... And I LOVE THEM!!! Read on~

I know you must be thinking that with me being in Hong Kong, I would have gone crazy with all the wonderful shopping there. But nooooo, I did not quite have the time for that... Sadly. Although, I did get to buy a few pieces of clothing! Better than nothing, right? :D Anyway, there was nothing much to buy as the fashion pieces found in the stores are beginning their Autumn/Winter season wear, and those would not be suitable for our country's weather. :p

BUT!!! I bought lotsa food!

MY ASTROBOY BOYFRIEND!

Look! Another Astroboy item I managed to find in Hong Kong!
It was a pity that I only went to Hong Kong after a year since the release of the Astroboy movie.
If not, I am sure I would be able to find more Astroboy items... Sigh!!! :(

So after the lunch at Jade Garden, we did some last-minute shopping before heading back to the hotel, packed our stuff and headed to the airport for our check-in. We took an evening SQ flight back to Singapore. So that was how I spent my 5 days in Hong Kong. I really enjoyed visiting Ocean Park and Hong Kong Disneyland and would love to visit these 2 parks again.

For my next visit to Hong Kong, I want to visit The Peak in the evening and admire the sunset and the scenery; take the Ngong Ping Cable Car; and visit the Madame Tussauds wax museum (esp since there is the Astroboy figurine being displayed!!!)! I want to also visit the latest attraction in Hong Kong - The Sky100 (天際100), which is due to be opened on 17 April 2011. It is actually an indoor observation deck on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre in West Kowloon, Hong Kong. And from the 2nd floor, I will up on the 100th floor in just 60 seconds! Reminds me something like the lift which I took to the 88th floor, to the revolving outdoor observation deck at Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Review: DHC Sube Sube Trial Kit

One of the DHC products I received from Watsons was this DHC Sube Sube Trial Kit. I have no idea what 'Sube' means though, haha! But this is the Olive Essentials Series and the key ingredient found in the products under this series is the Spanish Olive, which is believed to deliver intensive moisture and protection for all skin types.

Once you open the box, you will see the four products in trial-sized packaging. And there is a pretty dainty-looking bag too! You can use it to bring along with you during lunchtime... Something like those GWP bags that are usually given away with those Japanese mooks (magazine books). Just a suggestion for you, though the bag isn't my style~ :)

In this trial kit, there are:
(1) Deep Cleansing Oil 32ml; (2) Mild Soap 10g;
(3) Mild Lotion 32ml; and (4) Olive Virgin Oil 5ml.

With these 4 products, it is the beginning to 4 simple steps to skin beauty!

Deep Cleansing Oil - Cleanse
Mild Soap - Wash
Mild Lotion - Tone
Olive Virgin Oil - Moisturise

For the Deep Cleansing Oil, it helps to remove makeup really well. My skin feels smooth to the touch after rinsing it off! But of course, I am used to my double cleansing routine (makeup remover + facial cleanser), so I followed up with the Mild Soap. It does not feel as oily as Shu Uemura, since it takes only few drops of it to remove the makeup. Totally fab!

I also tried to use it to remove my eye makeup. I feel that it works well to remove eyeshadow, but I will not recommend you to use this to remove eyeliner or mascara - Tedious and your eyes may get irritated if they are too sensitive. Thus, after using it to remove my eye makeup for the first time, I never do that anymore. I chose to use an eye makeup remover for that specific purpose.

For the Mild Soap, I did not have that 'tightness' feeling, probably because this soap bar contains olive oil and honey. I managed to create much foam by rubbing the soap between both palms, quite fun actually~ :p It gives a 'squeaky-clean' feeling to my face after rinsing it off, more of squeaky than silky smooth, actually. My only gripe is that the Mild Soap comes in a soap bar form... I do, of course, wash my hand with hand liquid soap before I cleanse my face or remove makeup. But I can't imagine rubbing the soap bar, as it feels more like rubbing soap on my hands, get what I mean? :x With that being said, I do have to say that my face feels smooth after using this, but I think I will stick to cleansers that come in bottle/tube packaging. :)

I like the fact that the Mild Lotion is an alcohol-free toner, as I read that it is better to use a toner that does not contain alcohol. I was surprised when I got to know that the Olive Virgin Oil is the moisturiser, as I usually associate olive oil as a product to apply onto your hair. It is amazing that all it takes was just 1 drop for the whole face! As it is only 1 drop, it is certainly not oily at all. There was one night where I applied 2 drops of it and it was rather oily that I quickly used it for my neck and my hair ends. *hee* One tip to use this is that if you have a pimple, you can dab a drop of the oil onto it, do not rub.

I tried this product over a period of two weeks before I did this review. These four products are considered as a simple skincare routine that is suitable for the busy individuals. I found it weird to use the olive oil as a moisturizer though; and with just a drop used each time, I am not sure if my face is moisturized enough (though I guess it is since olive oil has high moisturizing abilities!). There was slight outbreak on my face, though I have to factor in the fact that it was around the 'pre-period timing'. Out of the four products, I like the Deep Cleansing Oil most!

The full-sized version of these products are rather costly though, but for such quality and benefits, some may consider them as worth it to spend money on. More than just a technology leader: Apple Inc. (Japan)

You know, regarding this earthquake that occurred on 11 March... A day before that, I woke up after having a dream about Japan. And that afternoon itself, I had lunch at Sushi Tei. I can't imagine that the earthquake and tsunami happened a day after. :(

And on that same week of the earthquake, my favorite Uncle and Aunty was supposed to go for a holiday in Tohoku. But my Aunt decided to postpone the trip as her company has to do stock-take that week. If they had gone, their holiday trip will stretch past 11 March and something could have happened to them.

My sis flew off to Hong Kong on 11 March itself in the early morning. By right, she wanted to go to Tokyo but felt that 4 days (Friday-Monday) in Tokyo is not enough, as she couldn't get away longer than that due to work, so she switched her holiday destination to Hong Kong. Imagine if my Uncle, Aunty and sis had gone ahead with their initial plan? *horrors*

As much as I am relieved that they did not go to Japan, daily news reports and pictures of the aftermath are heart-wrenching enough that I cringed while reading/looking at them. :( Of course, there are the stories of the brave rescue teams who put in all their effort to search for surviving victims, for example... With this being said, I would like to share with you [this blog post] by Kevin Rose, who blogged about how Apple Inc. (Japan) had contributed in more ways than they should! Apple had shown that they are more than just a Mac... iPhone... iPad... Ok, I shall stop, you get my drift~ :)

Sushi Tei Fundraising Effort for Japan's Earthquake

My family's favorite Japanese casual restaurant chain, Sushi Tei, came up with a way to raise funds to help Japan after the devastating earthquake which occurred a fortnight ago...

From now till 01 April 2011, 100% of sale proceeds from this dish, Salmon Wafuu Carpaccio will be donated to Singapore Red Cross Society for the Japan's Earthquake Relief Efforts.

And for food import from Japan, you should know how strict Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) is, so there is nothing you have to worry with regards to the radiation level in the food. Even after the tsunami, I still went to Sushi Tei for a meal... Last Tuesday, I think. :)

Hong Kong Holiday Day 4

We woke up really early this morning as we were going to Macau!!! There were 14 of us going together! Bbb and I felt so tired still that we simply slept on the ferry ride to Macau. But he slept more than me, almost throughout the whole journey. I was so bored that I decided to camwhore, and take photos with him while he's sleeping. We wore matching greyish tops today! ^_^

Once we arrived at the Terminal, we hopped on the Venetian shuttle bus to the hotel, before we cabbed to our lunch place. It was a rather cloudy day :(

There were so few vehicles on the road.
Cos everyone are stuck in the casinos? LOL! :p

The HK relatives brought us for lunch at this place named Comida Portuguesa, which serves authentic Portuguese cuisine. Click [HERE] for the restaurant website. The restaurant has a warm ambience setting. The place was decorated with many plates and banners hanging on the wall. There were also those sports tram pictures and flags on the wall. There were displays of photos taken annually, probably to commemorate the restaurant's birthday or something. We sat on the upper level of the restaurant, where we were served by the friendly staff that were all smiles, except for one particular waitress that gave a black face throughout. (-_-)

It was my first time having a Portuguese meal. We ordered many different dishes to share, but I didn't take photos of each and every dish as I was ultra famished and everyone was tucking in so I didn't take any. But anyway, the food was fantastic although my taste buds need to get used to the full-flavored food, probably due to the various spices used. There were many new and strange dishes that I have never tried before till that day. I must say it was an interesting meal experience for me. :)

As if it was not enough, the HK relatives brought us to an eatery place named Loja Sopa Da Fita Cheong Kei for wanton noodles. They said the noodles are a must-try. And if locals say something is nice, it probably is! If you are in Macau, you have to try the various noodles dishes here!

How....??? I am still not used to wearing a loose tunic top with leggings.
Basically, it's just because it is loose, thus I am not used to it, even till now. :(
I bought this top from H&M! The one that Bbb is wearing as seen in this post is also from H&M.

And what was more worst was the smelly canals in Venice. LOL!

Next, the HK relatives brought us to this bakery to buy pastries - Pastelaria Choi Heong Yuen. This bakery started in 1935 and they have several retail outlets in Macau today. All of us bought lotsa pastries home for family, friends and colleagues. The almond cakes were awesome! They also have mini almond cakes, where one can buy a box of it, with each mini almond cake which is individually packed. Very cute! I will post the photos of it in my next post k? :)

We walked along the uneven stoned pavements and I spotted a soft toy bear on a tour guide stick! You know, those sticks which tour guides hold up in the air so that the tour group members will not get lost? I got rather excited when I saw that bear as it was the same bear that was attached to the bouquet of flowers which Bbb gave me on my Convocation Day (Read the post HERE)! (^_^)

Yup! This was the bear! :)

In Macau, one can find historical buildings that were given a facelift,
but still hints the Colonial era feel.

Milan Station... The popular Hong Kong second-hand branded goods shop.
But honestly, how good a second-hand item can be? I've my own reservations, sorry to say.

Some say a trip to Macau is not complete without a trip to the Casino.
For me, a trip to Macau is never complete without a trip to the Ruins of St Paul's site!

Im amazed by how splendid the facade was conserved!
Despite that it was built in the 16th century! And I love the intricately carved details!

It was a pity that I did not get to visit Fortress Hill, but Im sure I can see it the next time I am in Macau. We cabbed to the Ferry Terminal and headed back to Hong Kong island in the evening. Together with Bbb and his Godsis, we went for another shopping trip... Another 'quick' shopping trip which I really wished it could be for hours... But well, we had another family dinner gathering to attend, as it was the last night in Hong Kong, before we had to fly back to Singapore. I was practically combing through stores after stores, like as if I was in some mad frenzy "Grab anything you like in 20 seconds" sort of thing. LOL!

So what I got from this trip? I bought a skirt each from Guess and Armani. Bbb got me a matching 3-piece corset lingerie set from H&M. Oh, and I got myself two tops, a cardigan, 3 intimate wears, and two skirts from H&M. Speaking of which, who's excited that H&M is finally gonna have a store in Singapore!?!! Raise your hand!! :D

After the shopping, we rushed to join the rest at the restaurant for dinner.
They were hanging out at one of the relative's home while we went shopping. :p

Totally appreciate the warm hospitality of Bbb's HK relatives~ :)

Chris Medina (American Idol) 'What are Words'. My liking for songs by Rod Stewart, Bee Gees, Deep Purple, The Eagles, Scorpions and more!

The song, 'What Are Words' by Chris Medina
has been on repeat mode on my lappy for the past few days...

I don't usually watch American Idol, but one evening I happened to watch the program and it just so happened to be the episode of Chris Medina at the audition. His love story was truly touching and tugged on my heart strings. Despite his fiancée's disability, he stood by her and is her primart caregiver.

It got me to think back of those questions that I would ask Bbb every now and then... Such as, "What if I turn blind one day, will you take care of me?" or "What if I become a handicapped person, will you stll marry me?", and more of such similar questions.

He said he will, but IF something unfortunate happen to me (CHOY! Touch Wood!), will he be true to his promises? Will Bbb be able to be like how Chris Medina is to his fiancée? I am not doubting Bbb, or his answers, or his love and commitment towards me. But I will never know, nor can be sure that he will still stand by me... Till something bad really happens to me right?

But no, I won't curse myself just to know the answer. I want to be fit and healthy and live a long life with him. Howver, if fate dictates my life to have such an incident, I know Bbb will stand true to his words. But then again, I would rather not know the answer, as that will mean something bad would have happened to me...

Going back to the song, "What Are Words"... I really like Medina's voice in the song. When I heard it, it reminded me of Rod Stewart's distinctive raspy voice. But of course, no one matches up to Rod Stewart! Come 20 March 2011, he's performing in America. Not my business right, since I am in Singapore. I didn't get to watch him perform when he was in Singapore back in 2009. Sidetrack >> Neither did I get to watch Deep Purple (Does 'Smoke on the Water' rings a bell to you?) when they performed here last year. Oh well~ :-/

(You can say some of my music likings were influenced by my parents as they would spin the CDs to the likes of Rod Stewart, Bee Gees, Deep Purple, The Eagles, Scorpion and more! In fact some of my all-time favourite songs are those sentimental oldies. Heh!~)

Of Japan Earthquake, Tsunami and to eRegister with Ministry of Foreign Affairs

When Japan was hit with an earthquake of a 7.2 magnitude on Wednesday (09 March 2011), I was worried but I managed to contact my friend who was in Hiroshima, who told me that the earthquake was not very obvious, almost to the point that nothing much can be felt.

Although earthquakes occur in Japan rather frequently, but this quake lasted longer than usual... And due to this earthquake, the authorities issued a warning of an upcoming Tsunami. But till 10 March, there was no sign of the tsunami (not that I was looking forward to it), and I felt so relieved.

But then, on Friday afternoon (11 March), something bad happened... A 8.9 magnitude earthquake rocked the northeastern part of Japan which triggered a devastating tsunami that sent 10-metres high waves towards the land. It was quite scary to see a news video footage online, where muddy waves carried cars and even BOATS with it, and moving towards the land in Sendai, wreaking houses and engulfing rice fields in the process.

The earthquake is considered the world's 5th largest one since 1900 and the biggest earthquake in Japan for the past 140 years! Trains, buses and flights are issued to stop operations, but a train carrying passengers was reported missing... :( Due to this Japan quake, it has shifted the Earth's axis of rotation by 10cm. Well, the change is not noticeable, but it is permanent - A day is getting shorter, and not as if there are enough hours in a day currently for us to do whatever we need to. A worrying issue indeed...

It is a voluntary and free service where you eRegister your travel details on the webpage, just in case of any crisis in the country you are traveling to. They will know where you are staying in which country and city, which will come in useful should the country you are heading to experience a natural disaster event, civil unrest, etc... I always eRegister before I go for all my travel trips (except one-day trips to JB though). Oh, and I will also have the contact details of the Singapore embassies in the countries I visit to on hand.

Call me paranoid, but it only takes a few minutes to note down the embassies contact details, as well as to register yourself and your travel mates, so why not? I ever mentioned about this eRegister service in an entry in my (previous) blog, and have even created a link which was easier to remember, that direct one straight to the webpage to eRegister...

Review: Pizza from Spizza

One of my recent lunch that I had with Bbb was at Spizza. Spizza has several outlets around Singapore and I was dining at the branch located in Jalan Kayu. What I like about this branch is it is usually quieter in the afternoons. Good for romantic couples, catchup session with your pal and even for that business lunch.

We arrived at about 1.45pm and we were the only diners in the air-conditioned area (We had the whole place to ourselves! Hooray haha!) while another 2 diners who were sitting in the alfresco area. But you won't want to sit there on a sunny afternoon and with construction trucks and buses zooming past you, for sure! ;p

We each ordered the Nabucco, which is actually
Cream of Wild mushrooms soup, topped with bread croutons.

The soup was creamy which we both prefer. It was surely a savory starter as the soup retained the dark intensity flavors of the wild mushrooms. But it could be better if it was less saltish.

And for our mains, we ordered a 12-inch large Pizza, that was wood-fired, for sharing. What I liked about the pizza menu in Spizza is the pizza assortment, where the pizza are named after the names of Italian women from alphabets A to Z, except W and Y. I have no idea why they skipped on the alphabets 'W' and 'Y' though. I still remembered the time when I came here for lunch with a friend a long time back, I 'declared' that I would try all the pizzas in the menu, except for the ones that have the chilly ingredient in them. Sad to say, I have not accomplished that so far.

We ordered the Katerina pizza, which was made up of
Tomato, Mozzarella, Beef Carpaccio, Rucola and Shaved Parmesan.

Whatever that was used to make this pizza are
what I like most in my pizza, especially rucola!
So choosing Katerina was a natural choice for us, the beef lovers.

The pizza crust was not the super-thin type, but it was crunchy at least. The amount of tomato used was just nice and the beef carpaccio was tasty and tender. And do you know carpaccio is actually raw meat and was invented in Italy way back then?
